At approx. 4 years old, we suspect Emily came out of a drug house ... cats who have been abused show their fear differently than dogs, and tend to anticipate being struck so they strike first. Emily isn't a bad cat, she's an abused one and will need a special person to come forward for her. A home where she's the only cat, with someone who understands that touch-and-walk-away helps damaged animals realize your touch isn't going to hurt them. Obviously a child-free home is best, and although she's around cats every day, she'd still do best in a one-pet home.
